Tennis Cruise is a Hit!

The Inaugural Tennis Cruise has come and gone.  In a word, it was a BLAST!  Months of planning and preparation certainly paid off as everything went even better than planned.  Of course when you have a recipe that includes Owen Davidson (Tennis Hall of Fame's newest inductee), Playmate Tennis Pros running drills (complete with ball machine), and 40 of the nicest people that I have ever met you have a hit.  Add to that playing tennis in a beautiful resort in Miami, as well as Cozumel and Grand Cayman and you have 40 nice and happy people.  All of this was done along with a seven night cruise on the Royal Caribbean ship, The Liberty of the Seas.  Both on and off of the ship we had tennis activities ranging from tennis drills on the sports court,  classroom clinics with Owen, Wii Tennis, and for a quiet day, just hanging out on a private beach in Costa Maya with beach tennis for those who got out of their hammock or chaise lounge.  I have never seen a group of people who had never met bond as quickly as this group.  All ages, all walks of life, they could not get enough of each other.  I would still like to believe that I was the one that stopped the rain in Costa Maya, and I was definitely the one who complained the most about the heat in Grand Cayman (and I wasn't even playing tennis!)  We rounded out the week with a day at the Sony Ericsson Open.   All in all, I think that I had as much fun as the partipants, and I really look forward to our next Tennis Cruise in August.
